CPERL supports mentored and collaborative research projects that address the participation and quality of life of children with diverse health-related conditions and backgrounds.

The image below depicts our view of the child as central - the pearl - participating within home, school, and community environments. Each of these environments has multiple layers of influence on the child. Some are unique (e.g., school policies and procedures) and some are similar between or across environments (e.g., access to public transportation).

We are working to develop, validate, and apply new tools to empower parents, practitioners, and researchers to envision tangible ways of promoting children's participation in each of these environments.
